"Creating gifts to enjoy and remember forever," G. DeBrekht artists in the United States, Russia and around the world combine handcrafting with modern techniques to design unique, high-quality art. During the past twelve years, G. DeBrekht Artistic Studios has followed traditions of the old school of Russian painting.
Along the way, they have created their own traditions. Their designs evidence these labors of love, with every touch as special and unique as the person who participated in its creation. Every designer, artist-carver and artist-painter uses his or her individual skill to add uniqueness to each piece. You'll see this personal touch in every individual carving mark and details that are painted free-hand, without guidelines—making every piece one-of-a-kind, just as you are.
Using a very special wood-based resin material, each piece is hand-poured and will resemble the hand-carved original so closely that even the woodcarver cannot tell the pieces apart.
A small corps of artists in other countries, each trained in the Russian techniques of decoration and story painting, meticulously hand paints each piece to the exact likeness of the original.
Amazingly, each artist paints free-hand without guidelines. The paint is usually added in three to nine layers, one on top of another. Using rich color pigments and palettes that duplicate the ones used in Russian art villages, these gifted artists create the magnificent scenes and decorations

Even with small edition sizes of 600 to 1,500, it still takes two to three years to complete each edition of these works of art. Because of their small edition sizes, these pieces retire from production quickly.
