Tour of Goebel's Hummel Production Facility by Collecto-Mania

We recently toured the Goebel facilities in Rodental, Germany, home of Hummel figurines. If you're able to visit Rodental, we highly recommend it. You'll come away with a better understanding and appreciation of your collection, especially all the intricate work of the many human hands involved in the creation of each figurine.

Because each mold can be used only about 20 times	many molds must be made	and stored


Precision handwork	assembles the mold pieces	to form completed	figurines


Once assembled, figurines	are fired at about 2100 F	Gerry is over 6 feet tall	It's a large facility!


After cooling, figurines receive a sealing glaze In the 2nd firing, this glaze becomes transparent and they're ready for painting	Squirrel hair brushes	Many painters add their expert touches
